Finelite delivers!

Terry Clark of Finelight has made a donation of $250 toward the solar system for Gran Sous. Thanks to Finelite for supporting this great cause!

I am slated to join Chad Bissonette in Haiti on January 8th for a week in Gran Sous doing the install. It appears we will be able to source the Photovoltaics locally (initially after the quake, solar gear was impossible to buy locally due to the demand). This is a big improvement as it will keep the costs low and will allow easier service or replacement parts if something were to fail.

We still are several thousand dollars short of our goal and the basic system requested would only provide light and power. A small freezer for vaccines, a small incubator (for testing water) and, some cell phones and laptops are all on the wish list to make this community center not just a gathering place with light, but a sustainable place where essential community organization and health care can be supported.
